The short answer
- Booking software such as MoeGo, Gingr and Time To Pet runs bookings and client portals. Unless it also hosts your website, it doesn't change what your own site tells Google and AI assistants.
- Rover is a marketplace profile that brings bookings for a fee per booking. It sits on Rover's site, not yours.
- ServiceCited checks what Google and AI assistants can read on your own website, explains each problem in plain English and writes the fix.
- Your Google Business Profile is free. No tool can promise an AI recommendation, so check what each one actually changes.
Which SEO tool does a pet business actually need?
Most groomers, walkers, sitters and kennels need two kinds of tool: one to take bookings, and one to make sure people and AI assistants can find and trust them. They're different jobs, and few tools do both.
- Take bookings and run the diary: MoeGo, Gingr or Time To Pet.
- Get bookings from a marketplace: a Rover profile.
- Get your own website read and recommended: ServiceCited.
- Be found on Google Maps and local listings: your free Google Business Profile, plus BrightLocal if you need more.
How do the pet business tools compare?
Here's the short version. Prices are the lowest listed on each company's own site on 3 November 2026, in US dollars unless marked, before tax or VAT.
| Tool | Best for | From | Search and AI features | Changes your website? | Effort for you |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| ServiceCited | Getting your own site read | $29/month | Checks AI bots can read you, writes llms.txt, tracks AI answers in Claude | Yes, on WordPress, Squarespace and Ghost | Low: approve fixes |
| MoeGo | Groomers and mobile groomers | $49/month (Basic) | Book online button on Google from Growth ($99/month per van) | Separate booking page; also offers a Growth Site | Medium: set up booking |
| Gingr | Daycares, kennels and boarding | $109/month (Spa), $100 billed yearly | None on its pricing page | No, its booking page is separate | Medium: set up booking |
| Time To Pet | Walkers and sitters | $25/month (Lite) | None on its pricing page | No, you link to its portal | Medium: set up booking |
| Rover | Sitters and walkers wanting bookings | A fee per booking | None; it's a marketplace listing | No, it's a profile on their site | Low: keep it current |
| BrightLocal | Listings and local rankings | $41/month (one location) | Local AI Visibility Tracker | No, it tracks and manages listings | Medium: act on reports |
What does ServiceCited do?
ServiceCited works on the website you already have. It scans your pages the way Google and AI assistants read them, explains each problem in plain English and writes the fix: your services and the prices you choose to publish as text, the neighbourhoods and postcodes you cover, licences, insurance and qualifications from your profile (never invented), a clear Book now link and structured data for your business.
If your services only show inside a booking widget, it writes a plain services page from your profile (on WordPress, saved as a draft for you to check). On WordPress, Squarespace and Ghost (Wix, Webflow and Shopify are coming soon), you connect once and each fix goes live in one click, with a history you can undo. On other sites you get the steps, or a one-line snippet: Google and Bing read its fixes, but AI assistants don't.
The Pro plan is $29 a month for up to 3 sites. It scans again every week and emails you, and a daily check puts back fixes that a theme update or cache undid. AI answer tracking asks 10 questions a month. We ask Claude today; ChatGPT, Perplexity and Gemini switch on as we add them. There's no free plan, but the free website checker shows your score first.
Best for: pet businesses with their own website. Not for: bookings, payments, reminders or your diary. Keep your booking software for those.
Do booking apps like MoeGo, Gingr and Time To Pet help with SEO?
They help people book, and some help on Google, but unless one hosts your website, it doesn't change what your own site says. A booking page that lives on the app's own web address adds to that app's site, not yours, so keep your services, prices and areas written on your own pages too.
- [MoeGo](https://www.moego.pet/pricing) includes online booking from its Basic plan, $49 a month. Its booking storefront (opens in a new tab) can show your services, prices, hours and reviews. On its Growth ($99 a month per van) and Ultimate plans with Online Booking 3.0, MoeGo says a Book online button (opens in a new tab) can appear on your Google Business Profile. MoeGo also describes a Growth Site (opens in a new tab) that builds a booking website from your Facebook, Instagram or Google presence; its page doesn't say which plans include it.
- [Gingr](https://www.gingrapp.com/pricing) lists online booking, a customer portal and marketing tools on every plan. Spa was $109 a month, or $100 a month billed yearly.
- [Time To Pet](https://www.timetopet.com/pricing) includes a client portal from its Lite plan, $25 a month or $250 a year. Its help centre explains how to add portal and new client form links (opens in a new tab) to your website.
Best for: running bookings. Pair whichever you use with a website that states your services, areas and rules in plain text.
Is a Rover profile enough on its own?
It brings bookings, but it's Rover's page, not yours. In the UK, Rover says (opens in a new tab) sitters and walkers take home 85% of each booking. In the US, it lists (opens in a new tab) a 20% service fee per booking, with different fees in California and for some in a pilot programme.
AI assistants read listings as well as your website, so keep your Rover profile, Google listing and site in step (NAP consistency). Your own site is still where you set out your areas, walks, prices and rules in full.
Do you need BrightLocal for a pet business?
Only if you want to track local rankings or manage listings on many sites at once. BrightLocal (opens in a new tab) tracks your local search rankings, audits your Google Business Profile and checks your listings for wrong details. Higher plans sync your details across sites and handle reviews.
Its Track plan was $41 a month for one location, or $31 billed yearly, and includes what it calls a Local AI Visibility Tracker. It reports; it doesn't change your website. A sole walker or groomer can usually keep a few listings right by hand.
What can you do for free?
Start with your Google Business Profile. Google says you can manage how you show on Maps and Search at no charge, and businesses that visit customers, like walkers and mobile groomers, can sign up as service-area businesses. Add your services, areas, hours and booking link.
Then check your own site: the free AI visibility checker shows which AI assistants it lets in. Our guides to services and prices and service areas cover what to write.
Which tool should you choose?
Most pet businesses end up with one booking tool and one way to be found:
- Groomer, salon or mobile groomer: MoeGo for bookings.
- Daycare, boarding or kennels: Gingr for bookings.
- Walker or sitter: Time To Pet for bookings, and Rover if you want marketplace bookings.
- Want your own website found and trusted: ServiceCited, from $29 a month.
- Everyone: a complete, accurate Google Business Profile. It's free.
Questions people also ask
Type to search these questions, or ask anything about getting found on Google and AI.
Is there a free SEO tool for pet businesses?
Yes. Google Business Profile is free. Rover takes its fee from each booking. ServiceCited's free website checker shows your score and what to fix; its plans are paid.
Do I need my own website if I'm on Rover?
It helps. Rover and your Google listing are useful, and assistants read them, but your own website is the one place you fully control. It's where you set out your services, areas, prices and rules in full.
Will Google read the services in my booking widget?
Not reliably. Booking widgets often load in their own window or after the page, which search engines and AI assistants may not read. Write your services and prices on your own pages as well.
Can these tools get my business recommended by ChatGPT?
None can guarantee it. They can make your services, areas and credentials easier for AI assistants to read and check. Assistants decide for themselves who to recommend.
