Schema markup for mobile dog groomers
Schema markup for mobile dog groomers
Use LocalBusiness with areaServed listing every town your van visits, your town and postcode (or city and ZIP) in place of a street address, and your grooms with their prices, extra charges included. Together they tell search engines and AI assistants that you come to the customer, not the other way round.
The type to use
LocalBusiness
LocalBusiness doesn't need a shopfront: with areaServed instead of a street address, it describes a business that travels to its customers. schema.org has no grooming or mobile-service type, so nothing more specific exists.

The properties that matter for mobile dog groomers
Most important first. Fill in what's true for you and leave out the rest; every value must also be on the page.
- areaServed
- Every town or suburb the van covers, one entry each, matching the service areas on your Google Business Profile. “Mobile groomer near me” is matched against these names.
- address
- Just the city, state and ZIP, or town and postcode. Your street is probably your home, and Google lets businesses that travel to customers keep it hidden.
- hasOfferCatalog
- Van grooms by size, plus any second-dog or trip charge, so a price read from your markup is the price owners pay at the door.
- telephone
- The mobile you answer between appointments. Owners text to ask whether you'll reach their street.
- openingHoursSpecification
- The days and hours the van is out. If you only groom on weekdays, say so, and weekend searchers aren't told you're free.
- potentialAction
- A ReserveAction pointing at your online booking page, so software reading the block knows where bookings are made.
- image
- A photo of the van itself, livery and all: it's what owners look out for when you pull up.
- priceRange
- A span such as “$65–$140”, from a small-dog bath to a large double coat.
- sameAs
- Your Facebook page and any booking-app profile, so reviews there attach to the same van.
Example
Copy, then make it yours
This is the markup for a made-up business. Replace every value with your own before you use it.
- Change every name, address, number and link to your own, and delete lines that don't apply.
- Paste it into your site's header code (website builders call it “code injection” or “custom code”), or let ServiceCited add it for you.
- Check it with Google's Rich Results Test or the Schema Markup Validator.

Mistakes mobile dog groomers make with markup
Your home street in the address
The address a van business registers at is often a house. Publishing it in markup tells customers to turn up there and puts your home on the map; give the town and postcode only, as your Google profile does.
A whole state in areaServed
“Texas” or “Greater Austin” covers places your van will never reach in a day. Name the towns on your route, and assistants stop suggesting you to people ninety miles away.
Prices without the extras
If a second dog or a trip outside your core towns costs more, and only the base groom is in the catalog, the price an assistant quotes is lower than your bill. Add those charges as offers too.
Also worth adding
- FAQPage: On a “what we need from you” page that answers parking, power, water and access questions in text owners can read.
FAQ
Mobile dog groomers: markup questions
Type to search these questions, or ask anything about getting found on Google and AI.
Can I give a radius instead of listing towns?
schema.org allows it: a GeoCircle with a geoMidpoint and a geoRadius in metres. Town names are closer to how owners search, though, and to what your page says, so list them and add a radius only if your page also states one.
The groom happens in the van outside the customer's house. Is there a property for that?
No. Say it in the service names and the description (“full groom in the van outside your home”), which is also how owners put it when they search.
My route changes by day. Can the markup show which town on which day?
Not in a form search engines use. Keep the weekly route as text on your areas page; the markup lists every town in areaServed and your working hours across the week.
