Website FAQ for cat groomers
14 questions cat owners ask before booking a groomer
Cat owners worry about how their cat will cope, so their first questions are about handling, sedation and what a lion cut really looks like. Answer them on your site honestly and in plain words, so they know what to expect before the carrier comes out.
The questions
What customers ask, and what a good answer includes
Answer in a sentence or two, in your own words, with real numbers where you have them.
Handling
- 1
Do you sedate cats for grooming?
A plain yes or no, and that sedation is only ever a matter for the cat's own vet.
- 2
What happens if my cat gets too stressed?
When you'd stop a groom, how you'd let the owner know and what you'd suggest next.
- 3
Can I stay while my cat is groomed?
Whether owners stay or wait elsewhere, and your reasons.
- 4
Are dogs groomed in the same room?
Whether your salon sees dogs, and if so, how you keep cats away from them.
The grooms
- 5
What does a lion cut involve?
What's clipped, what's left, how long it takes and roughly how long the coat takes to grow back.
- 6
How much does it cost to de-mat a Persian?
A starting price for de-matting, what changes it, and when you'd clip instead of brushing out.
- 7
Do you bath cats, or only brush them?
Which services include a bath and how you dry cats afterwards.
- 8
Can you just trim my cat's claws?
Whether you do quick claw trims on their own, the price and how long they take.
Home visits
- 9
Can you groom my cat at home?
Whether you visit homes, the areas you cover and the price compared with the salon.
- 10
What do you need from me for a home visit?
The space you need, like a table in a closed room, and whether the cat should be shut in beforehand.
- 11
Can you groom both my cats on one visit?
Whether you do several cats from one home in one visit, and the price for each.
Older, long-haired and tricky cats
- 12
Can you groom an elderly cat?
How you adapt for older cats, like shorter sessions and more breaks, and that anything about their health is for the cat's vet.
- 13
How often should a long-haired cat be groomed?
The gap you'd suggest between professional grooms, and the brushing owners can do at home.
- 14
My cat hates being brushed. Can you still groom her?
How you approach cats who resist handling, and when you'd suggest a shorter groom or a vet visit first.
Examples
What a good answer looks like
Written for a made-up business. Use the length and the directness, not the facts.
Do you sedate cats for grooming?
No, we never sedate cats. If a cat can't be groomed safely awake, we stop, call you and suggest you talk to your vet about what's best for them.
What does a lion cut involve?
We clip the body short and leave the mane, the lower legs and a tuft at the end of the tail. It takes about an hour, costs from £65, and the coat takes a few months to grow back.
Can you groom my cat at home?
Yes, we visit homes across Hove and Brighton on Tuesdays and Thursdays, for £10 more than a salon groom. We need a small room with a door that shuts and a table we can work on.
FAQ
Putting answers on your site
Google stopped showing FAQ dropdowns in its results in 2026, so the win is the answers themselves: written on your pages, where people and AI assistants read them.
Type to search these questions, or ask anything about getting found on Google and AI.
Most of our customers have dogs. How do we make cat grooming easy to find?
Give it its own page and say who grooms the cats and when, like a cats-only morning. Cat owners won't dig through a dog grooming site to find out whether you take cats.
Should we show before-and-after photos of matted cats?
If the owners have agreed, yes, with a calm description of the work. Leave out photos of sore skin: they upset people, and anything about skin is for the cat's vet.
Is it worth explaining why we don't use cage dryers?
Yes, as part of how you groom: how cats are dried and why you chose that way. Owners ask it often, and a sentence on your site answers it before they ring.
