Website FAQ for dog groomers
16 questions your grooming salon's website should answer
Before they book, owners want to know what a groom will cost for their breed, how long it takes and how you'll treat a dog who hates the dryer. Put the answers on your salon's site, a line or two each, and they're what search engines and AI assistants repeat.
The questions
What customers ask, and what a good answer includes
Answer in a sentence or two, in your own words, with real numbers where you have them.
Prices and appointments
- 1
How much is a full groom for a cockapoo?
A starting price for that breed or size, and what adds to it: coat length, matting or a long gap since the last groom.
- 2
How long will my dog be at the salon?
A typical time for a small and a large dog, and whether you ring when they're ready or give a collection time.

Can I book just a nail trim or a bath?
Which quick services you do on their own, their price, and whether you take walk-ins for them.
- 4
Are you open on Saturdays?
Your grooming days and times, plus how far ahead weekend slots usually go.
Coats and cuts
- 5
Do you hand strip wire-coated breeds?
Whether you hand strip or clip wire coats, the breeds you strip most, and why it takes longer and costs more.
- 6
What happens if my dog's coat is badly matted?
When you'd clip short rather than brush out, and that you'll talk it through and agree the price before you start.
- 7
How often does a doodle need grooming?
The gap you'd suggest between grooms for doodle coats, and the brushing owners can do at home in between.
- 8
Can I bring a photo of the cut I want?
That you're happy to work from a picture, and when a coat's length or condition means the look isn't possible yet.

- 9
How do you groom a nervous rescue dog?
What you do differently, such as quiet appointments, breaks and one dog at a time, without promising every dog will relax.
- 10
Do you use cage dryers?
How dogs are dried at your salon, and whether they wait in crates between stages.
- 11
Will my dog be groomed alongside other dogs?
How many dogs are in the salon at once, and whether a one-to-one slot can be booked.

The age you take puppies from and what a short puppy introduction involves.
- 14
Do you need to see my dog's vaccination record?
What you ask to see before a first groom, if anything, written exactly as your own policy sets it.
- 15
What should I tell you before the first appointment?
The things you want to know in advance, like age, past grooms, and anywhere the dog dislikes being touched.
- 16
Will you tell me if you spot a lump or a sore patch?
That you'll point out anything you notice and suggest a vet visit, without guessing what it might be.
Examples
What a good answer looks like
Written for a made-up business. Use the length and the directness, not the facts.
How much is a full groom for a cockapoo?
A full groom for a cockapoo starts at £48 and takes about two and a half hours. If the coat is matted or it's been more than 10 weeks since the last groom, we'll tell you the price before we start.
Do you use cage dryers?
No. Every dog is dried by hand with a stand dryer, on a quieter setting for dogs who don't like the noise. Between the bath and the finish, dogs rest in a padded pen beside the grooming table.
What age can my puppy have their first groom?
We see puppies from 12 weeks for a 30-minute introduction: a gentle wash, a brush, a nail trim and some time getting used to the table. It costs £25, and please bring your puppy's vaccination card.
FAQ
Putting answers on your site
Google stopped showing FAQ dropdowns in its results in 2026, so the win is the answers themselves: written on your pages, where people and AI assistants read them.
Type to search these questions, or ask anything about getting found on Google and AI.
Should breed prices go on one price list or on separate breed pages?
Start with one price list that names your most common breeds, each with a starting price. Add a page for a breed only when you groom plenty of them and have something real to say, like how you hand strip a border terrier.
Our booking app asks for vaccination details. Do we still need them on the site?
Yes, in a sentence. Owners ask before they open the app, and assistants can't read inside it. Copy the rule word for word from your booking form so the two never disagree.
How do we answer the matting question without sounding like we're blaming owners?
Explain what you do, calmly: you'll check the coat, talk through the options and agree the price first. Owners often worry about being judged, and a plain answer tells them they won't be.
